Question Transmission Problem

I have a 99 f250 with the 7.3, my transmission slips a little going into 3rd gear, i changed the fluid and filter with the same result? Someone was telling me i should drain it again and there was something else i could take out with some type of ball valve and clean the ***** because they will build up and not completely seal?

Maybe someone is blowing smoke up my a** but if its so any tips?

Here's how to do it. I don't know anything about a ball that needs to be removed and cleaned.
Changing ATF Fluid in a E4OD and 4R100 transmission .: Articles

It needs updating. MERCON V has replaced MERCON and is now the right fluid to use.

How can you tell your transmission is slipping in 3rd gear? I started feeling a little steady bump at around 35mph yesterday. I was wondering if it is the same problem. I don't know much about transmissions or troubleshooting.

How many miles on the tranny? Average life span of the torque converter behind a 7.3 is around 150-175K.

Well from going into second i feel the nornmal change as it goes into gear, then going into 3rd the RPM's drop slowly for about a second or 2 instead of just going into 3rd? Doesnt happen going to 4th.
