It's a cheap intake mod. The stock air filter box is garbage and does not seal well. Instead of dropping $200-$400 or more on an intake (aFe, Ford AIS), a lot of us got a piece of 4" diameter aluminum (or exhaust piping), modified/removed our air box base and dropped in a big ol' air filter (Napa part number 46637) for less than $100.
More Pictures if the Big Yellow.. When i first got the thing i thought i ordered the wrong size or something. Noway dat Thang going to Fit in there.. It did.. Nicely in fact.. Of course i always buy two of everything.. One for me and one for my dad.. Except i forgot the Pete Hat on my dads. He had to order himself from pete.. lol.. That thing is sweet.. Love it.
I had a member of FTE *i forget* send me a pc of a 4" 4 long of exhaust pipe.. Really only need 2.5 long. I found my dads 4" up at the local garage. To attach the new filter to the existing intake tube.
Thanks on the Comps.
Got that right.. Plus a set of hood hinges(opening the hood so much).. If it looks like crap when i opened the hood, i get after it and clean it up.. There are a bunch more things i want to get after. Didn't do much last summer. It rained so much.
