Zip tie it to the brake lines or somewhere convenient.

Question Questions

Does the 6637 air filter upgrade perform as good as the kits with the heat shield? Concerned about pulling air in from under hood instead of through front grille area.

K&N Air Intakes, Cold Air Intakes - World Leader in Performance Air Intake Technology

Has anyone noticed if the Riffraff Performance 6637 pre-filter cover hender any air flow and does it lengthen the life of the air filter?

Any service departments @ Ford make a fuss about having this upgrade when in for service and trying to falsely blame other issues on it. When I was running a stock replacement K&N the diesel tech had some concerns about not using stock air filter. Also do you think they would have an issue with having that sensor out of place?

Thanks

It will work just as good as an intake with a heat shield. If you are really worried about it, F350-6 has a good write up on building a heat shield.
The cover does not significantly hinder air flow, its mostly for looks but does offer some pre-filtering capability.
Who gives a **** what the mechanics at Ford say or think.

Oh, and search is your friend

Yeah you see unfortunately I use Ford diesel techs to do all the service on my truck. You see the level of service I get there directly depends on how simple everything is, in other words if I go and start changing stuff around they are going to just focus on that one thing, if possible. This is the main reason why I have done any mods, well that & $$$, they love to blame stuff on other people and make up stuff. All the while they cant even perform a correct oil change!

I will do some FTE searching.

If they want to bitch about the 6637 let 'em. Its just as good as anything else out there. If you want something to keep the grease monkeys happy get the Ford AIS intake.

I have a K&N Cold Air Intake and filter on my 2000 F250 7.3... I want to lose the K&N Filter asap, but want to keep the intake tube...will the 6637 work on the K&N tube ?

Thanks !
