I am seriously going to look at doing this upgrade, instead of ordering a new Amsoil Nano filter! Could I expect to see any better driving/towing/mpg performance??????? Whats the average life of this filter on bone stock 2001 7.3L?
It adds all of the above. It would all depend on where you drive the truck. I mostly do city driving. I just added mine a month or so ago, I would check it when you do your oil changes. Personally never been happier.
I, due to others on FTE, just persuaded the filter on existing duct and used same clamp. When i started i thought " no way is this gonna fit " and when i got it on i thought " this clamp will never fit" But because of others on on here saying it will, i succeeded. THANKS FTE

1/2 hour taking the old air box out and i took the duct off the turbo so i could man handle the tube easier when attaching to the filter. DO NOT USE any fluid to apply. it will go on. take the duct off and you will see how much easier it is. well worth the money and time. well worth it.
yes you can tell a difference in performance! the more air a diesel has the more it will perform! Also think about upgrading your exhaust or just a muffler delete! that way it can breathe at both ends!
Nope you are gonna need a piece of 4inch pipe to connect the filter to the intake pipe, along with a new clamp. The filter is gonna cost you somewhere around $40. Check out Riff Raff for the complete kit.

BAD idea. Several members have also had the tube pop off the filter. Just find a piece of 4" exhaust tubing or a 3" ABS pipe coupler to use as an adapter.
