Steve, they are AC powered no batteries to change.

no backup batteries at all, mine are tied together with 110, but they have backup batteries in them too!

Theres no back up just the house generator.

I did take your advice and blow the smoke alarm out with air, there was dust inside.

I guess having the home generator will keep them powered during power loss.

I had the same thing happen about 2 years ago, we had them installed during our construction, it went off in the middle of the night.

Why do the darn things ALWAYS go off in the middle of night.

You should replace the detectors every 8-10 years because they become a lot less effective.

Anybody here in need of mulch? Got the equipment to start making mulch yesterday should be able to start producing as soon as we get some sunny days.
