I'm looking at a 2004 f250 4x4 with 6.0
Truck starts hard and runs ruff for a while then
extremely smooth and quite.
The problem is a almost dead peddle. idles around 700rpm and full throttle is 12-1400. Still very smooth, no bucking or smoke, just no power.
It's like the throttle is not attached.
Truck has a very good price.
What can i test on the truck before I buy?
check for codes. remove the oil fill cap and see how much smoke comes out of it. excessive smoke is an indacation of blow by. remove the egr vlave see if its full of carbon. remove the oil filter and check to see if stand pipe is melted. check ficm voltage.
