So I went and replaced my instrument cluster lights and in the process of everything, i had to disconnect the shift selector (PRND21) frome the cluster. Well.... somehow during the corse of events when I put everything back together, i noticed that the selector is off by a gear. park shows as reverse, reverse as neutral and so on. the linkage to the trany is fine and everything works as it should. But how do i fix it so that when im in park it reads as being in park? Thanks for any help and the truck is a 97 4x4 extended cab with the 4.6 if that makes any difference.

 

You should be able to reach down along side of the bottom right hand side of the column while sitting in the drivers seat and there is a threaded black adjusting nut that will allow you to do this.

thanks! the bracket around mine is broken.... time to find the super glue! lol

 

so the only thing the super glue wouldnt stick to was the little bracket. but i did manage to rig it with a twist tie. how do you go about replacing this thing? is it a total beeatch?
