08 F-150 transmission

Hello folks.... I have a 2008 F-150. When moving gear selector from park to either reverse or drive, trans has a delay engaging. After engagement, it runs fine, shifts ok, downshifts ok....Help!! Thanks for any input

Figure when buying a used vehicle there are three things that the average person doesnt maintain.
Change transmission filter and fluid
Change transfer case fluid
Drain and flush cooling system

I'd service the transmission and see if that helps.

It is usually a valve in the valve body that is a little sticky. Another thing it can be is the acumulator seals leaking, and when they do they still work but work slow.
