If its just a standard 1/8" pipe thread plug and you want to use a socket you need an 8 point socket of the appropriate size. If you don't like the square head replace it with your choice of allen, hex or slotted plugs.

Reason: CMA in case some of the plugs are'nt 1/8" pipe
Be carefull with the plug size, they changed mid-way through '95 like a lot of things. The early ones used a 1/8" pipe thread, then they went to the straight thread o-ring, which is what the 3/16" allen plug is.
You don't want to strip your housing trying to install the wrong style of thread if you go with a new plug.
I think ill just leave the plug since i will be building a tool that will fit it anyway. Its not going to be worth the hassle of switching it after ive grinded down a tool for it.
