its fifty degrees outside and my truck is taking like 8 seconds to crank. it has never had this much trouble. i changed the fuel filter and i tool my superchip programmer and i checked the engine for codes. it came up with the p1249, and 0603 which i have heard its normal for my truck to have it with a superchip. I'm trying to find a way to sell it so i can get a DP tuner but i got bigger fish to fry right now with it not cranking right. it has always turned over a twice and fired up. i checked the GPR it had 10.4 volts on the bigger wires coming in and that much on the ones going out as well. i have a 2002 f250 7.3 no mods just superchip and AFE cold air intake. its only got 105k on it now
I know i need to change to oil but it hasn't been anymore than 10k since i changed it and the oil in the hpop its about 3/4 of an inch from the top. can the oil being that old make it do that?
yes rotella syn. i figured out why its not cranking good i got plenty of oil in my HPOP BUT!! my oil is not registering on my dipstick. so i crawl up under my truck to take a look to see where oil is leaking and its got oil dripping off two metal lines and off a plate that covers up the fly wheel. i sprayed it down to see if i could see where any fresh is coming from and im waiting on it to dry now
well i figured out that its my valve cover leaking oil and the water pump is leaking water. im going ahead and putting on new valve cover gaskets and putting in a new water pump as well. is my superchip a reason that my oil started leaking the oil? i wouldnt think it would but yall know more about it
Might want to test your batteries Stroker - 10.4 volts sounds a little low. I may be off on this . Somebody that knows for sure will confirm or correct me.

Is it doing this when cold only? If so it could be as simple as the GPR or the glow plugs. I have heard its actually been getting rather cold down in the South East lately.
If its doing it after the engine is nice and warm then its probably another issue.
its been 40's and 50's during the day and 30's and upper 20's lately. could it be cause i had tried to crank my truck and with the oil bein low and lugging on the engine could it be it that cause i cranked it several times and then cut it off. well its at the dealership and the batteries are only 2 years old
