I was trying to keep it simple. The 73-96 F-150 4x4 uses a wider spring. However, the ARCH is the same. All OTHER Ford trucks.... 80+ F-250/350, Ranger, 97+ F-150, etc...all use the same rear springs. The 80+ 2wd trucks even use the same coils as the 4x4's.
Unless the guy who built it REALLY knows what he is doing that is a major fail waiting to happen.
Without the proper pre and post heat along with using the proper rod, welding to a casting will just cause cracking with any bouncing or vibration. Heck - welds will pop off castings if you even look at them funny
Let's put it this way. I'm so **** about my stuff all my TOOL STANDS in the shop are TIG welded. No MIG allowed here. And if my tool stands get that kind of treatment you can only speculate on why it takes me WAAAAY too long to finish a truck
Here's the cross memeber I made for the front of the crew
yea, chasetruck is great welder/ fab guy. ****, it took him all damn day to build me some bedside supports(my tailgate is removed), but they came out clean, straight, and completely bolt on. awesome work!!
YEAH I can tell! I have a Million things I need welded. I have never touched a welder and I don't intend to start now. I need floor pans in my truck (a little rust and some jack a.s.s cut holes in the floor to get to the crossmember bolts) and a trunk floor pan in my 66 Chevelle.
Here is an Off-Road pic for you. This is what we used to do in Missouri till they passed a law about vehicles in streams. It was back in the 80's. We called it the Creeker. 429ci runnig a 460 police interceptor cam out of an old highway patrol car, C-6 auto hooked to a Stock 4speed and Np205, running 4:10 gears and Dual 40" Gumbo Mudders all 4 corners. Dana 60 front and rear. Running a F600 cab, 10" of suspension lift, Redneck Style! Still sitting out back with small tractor tires on it now, needs a valve job. It will run in water up to the bottom of the snorkle, roughly 7 to 8 feet. After this trip we fixed the holes in the headers so they wouldn't give us the water sprinkler effect
On a side note, What size does the pics need to be so they wont be so big?? This one says it is 645 X 454. And it is still to big for the screen.
