[quote=bismic;8550291]So now it seems that they have officially changed the recommended 5R110 Torqshift fluid .........

Sure is confusing how they worded things in your first post!!

I don't think that I would mix the two though - just enough questions on these posts to concern me a little.[/quot

At the time (last month) I was told at the Ford dealer where I get supplies from that the SP and LV could be mixed. They even printed out a service bulletin showing you could top off the SP with LV. I went and put 8 quarts of LV in with my SP after draining the pan. So far 1,000 miles and no change in shifting.

I just was informed that the information in the fcsd website is "out dated". The information from ljutic ss is the most current - THANKS!

That wasn't with the filter, was it? If it was, it's worth the drive out there.

I paid 175 at Grody in Buena Park, but that included the filter.

Mark, I was relieved to read your post, but you should have posted it before 10:30 last night. I went to bed thinking Ford revised their information on the compatibility of SP and LV. I had a hard time falling asleep, wondering how much a trans rebuild would cost me.

P.S. Last month LV was $4.16 a quart +tax.

Torqueshift has a t-stat in it. You can't drain the 8 to 10 qts. in the torque converter without a hot flush.
