That price sounds legit, my dealer charges me $4.16 I am glad the cost of our trans fluid has come down to a reasonable price.

Just had my tranny flushed last week with LV. It is shifting better than ever. I am able to get parts at cost and paid 3.97/qt for the LV fluid, $22 bucks for the filter, and a heated flush by my diesel tech buddy at the dealer for a whopping total of $110. It doesn't smell as bad as the SP. Anyone else notice that?

I picked up a case around Xmas and that was the 1st. thing I noticed, now if only they can make the rear lube smell that pleasant.

I paid 175 at Grody in Buena Park, but that included the filter.

Checked with the "deal"erships in my area and only one offers hot flush and the cost is $375.00 that includes a new screen and external filter.

Well, I'm realy confused. Called 3 Ford dealers today and didn't get a staight answer from none of them. Can you use LV in a 2003 F-250 6.0? Can you just drain the pan and add 8 quarts of LV with the SP thats left in there?

This says you can mix the two. Guess if you want to be totally safe have the dealership change it or go to a Transmission shop you trust with the LV and have them do the total flush for you.

This is what I did shortly after Xmas, drained the pan and added 8 qt. of LV. Also I changed the inline filter, now every other motor oil change I will replace 8 qt. and a new filter. I will also send a sample to Blackstones for an analysis the 1st. time. The Ford dealer printed out a service bulletin stating the 2 fluids could be mixed in our transmissions.

No difference in shifting, next time your at a Ford dealer ask the parts person to print out the service bulletin on the new LV fluid. It explains that the 2 fluids can be mixed.

Lucas has come out with a SP/LV compatible fluid. It's not on the website yet but it works!
Called "Multi-Vehicle ATF", not too sexy but the specs are; super high flash point.
