My 7.3 Powerstroke Intercooler is in front of the AC condenser on my IDI and I see no raise in the temp, empty I run at 180 deg. When I tow my 32' 5th wheel the highest temp I've seen during the summer in 100 deg weather is about 215 on the guage.
lol it is the temp of the ac and the headpressure I am worried about.
Towcat as far as I know there is no rule against it. Everybody likes all the info we can get, but I have never done it. I tried the search on obn but had no luck.
The 7.3 Intercooler actually fits pretty well on these trucks. I installed one when I did the Cummins Conversion. Here are some pics but there are a few more on my webshots.

it's an old thread, but there's been a fair amount of input in the past.

Hey darrin! , im in the process of putting a 6.0 PSD into my 1991 F-350 4x4 Dually. Is your intercooler from a 1994-1997 7.3 PSD or a 1998.5-2003.5 7.3 PSD?
And where did you find it?
I'm having a hard time seeing how I'm going to get my 7.3 IC to fit in my 7th gen bullnose truck. I found the photobucket link and saw the install, but my tape measure is telling me I would have to move the radiator and AC condenser back toward the engine because the grill on these trucks slant backwards at the bottom making it really tight just above the bumper. I was thinking about mounting it low and welding up a bumper with a 18" X 32" hole in it only problem is the outlets would end up in a horrible place to pipe it through the radiator support.
I read the fantastic 16 page OBN thread on IC's and a couple of threads here and I'm finally convinced it's worth doing, now just have to make it FIT!!! I think the brick-nose truck owners have it a lot easier in this respect. (and no, I'm not changing my front clip )
Ford left about 1" space between the radiator and AC condenser, could this be compressed a bit? How about between the IC and the other radiators? Anyone put their AC condenser in front of the IC? It's about the same size as the 7.3 IC...
