Intercooler boot torque?

Performing the intercooler swap and wonder when tight is tight.

Is there a torque for the intercooler boots?

THanks

Usually as tight as you feel comfortable. I think the torque spec is 60 inch pounds, but i bet i have over 60 foot pounds on my clamps at the cast aluminum sided connections.

My Ford repair dvd shows 71 inch-lbs / approximately 6 ft-lbs of torque on the hose clamps. I usually tighten them by feel. I have never "torqued" mine.

Thanks!
I did it by feel the first time and blew a boot at 15 PSI. So now they are "a little tighter" by feel.

you did clean the oil out of them right??? if pops again..take the boot off..clean the oil on tube and boot..spray with some hair spray and put them back on..the hair spray will help glue them on....

Good tip, Ron, wish I would've done that when I had mine off just for piece-of-mind.

Well I did the second time .

Thanks for the tip! Hairspray also works good putting motorcycle grips on.
