I am new to this site. I am an original owner of a 2000 F350 7.3L 6spd crewcab 4door with 255,000 miles. Recently, my blower fan in the cab quit. I have heat, but no defrost air. Where do I start to repair this problem?
I have manual controls for the fan.
Late last summer, it would operate on the low setting and only operate on the high setting. No difference on medium setting.
Last fall, it just quit.
I just checked the 40 amp fuse and it is blown. Wow, that is a huge fuse! What would cause this?
Could you please be more specific - perhaps a part number??
The only thing I see electrical on top of the housing is a small electrical item part number 98AB 9F479 BA or PBT-GF30. It has 2 screws holding it, the AC dryer is below/front of this, & it has electrical connections & a vacuum hose from intake attached to it??
There is another item located inside the housing behind the AC dryer where electrical fittins plug into??
There is another item bolted to the sidewall fender that has electrical & vacuum lines??
Senix - Thanks.
I called my Napa partsman after I posted the last time and asked him about this resistor. For future reference: The Ford blower motor resistor is a Napa part # BR348 @ $15.99 each. And, it is the item located inside the housing, just to the left (drivers side) of the fan motor and slightly behind the AC dryer where electrical fittings are plug in. It is bolted in with 2 - 5/16" lug screws. I hope I don't break the plastic ears off the wire harness? Thanks for directing me in the right way.
