yeah that heavy duty shoot out was pretty good. pickuptrucks.com is suppose to do another this spring. Should be very interesting so see how they stackup.
Maybe not, but the lower gearing would play a significant role. I'm not a Dodge or Chevy apologist, I just am not sure they were comparing apples to apples.

Thats what I was thinking also. Im a ford guy but im also all about fair comparisons. That was not quite "apples to apples," more like red delicious to granny smith.
I understand the 450 is basically the same truck, but the gearing is definatly different then the chevy and dodge trucks, which is an advantage in my opinion.
They put a brand new Ford against a Chevy that had the older motor. And the Ford looked like an F450, not a 350.
the older engine is an advantage for the chevy. the lb7 (01-04) and the lbz (06-07) where way stouter that the lmm. and the truck is definately and 06 and above it has the tall hood.
But the other two manufacturers don't offer a "pickup" in a heavier payload option. The Ford does, so in a way it's comparing the heaviest pickup truck offerings from the manufacturers.
