Hello. I got this truck from a friend a few months ago, it's been running ok but never great, bad hesitation intermittently since I got it. Anyhow it got really bad on Thursday, so I brought it into the shop at work to take a look at the plugs, wires and cap/rotor.
To make a long story short, one of the plugs broke off in the block, got that out with an easy out today, replaced all the spark plugs, sparkplug wires, cap and rotor. I started the truck and drove it around the parking lot and it seemed to be running rough still, it kind of feels like its missing.
I brought it back into the shop, to check out the vacuum system (knowing that I had some cracked/missing hoses)
I connected a vacuum line from the port circled in green to the bottom port of the switch circled in red. There was some red vacuum line going into the switch but it wasnt connected to anything.
Now the truck wont start. It doesnt seem to be getting spark from the coil, so I replaced the coil, still no spark.
Also i dont know if the connector circled in blue should be connected to anything, it looks clean as if it was hooked up, but I cant find anything to plug it into.
What are the names of the parts I circled?
I realize that I shouldnt just hook hoses up here and there, It just seemed like the right move at the time.
Any ideas here guys?
I could really use some help.
I dont know what hooking a vacuum line to the wrong spot could have done to make the engine not start. Its turning over fine, just not firing up.
No spark would be more likely the PIP sensor in the Distributor.
But unplug the computer and see if spark returns first.
If it does then change the computer.
The Green one is the AIR B / AIR D Valve.
The Red one is the AIR B / AIR D Solenoid.

Okay, I see a white and black line between them, my airb/aird solenoid had a black and red coming off of it. the black goes into a loom and around the back of the engine, the red was broken off, I assumed it went to the airb/aird valve. when I did that the truck wouldnt start...

Red vacuum lines on all the Fords I have seen only come from the the main vacuum port.
Moving the vacuum lines would have nothing to do with getting no spark.

Unplug and replug the comp, or leave it unplugged?
Are you talking about the Ignition control module or the ECM?
It turned out to be a loose ellectrical connector at the coil. The 12v power supply was good, but the yellow/tan wire, I think it connects to the ICM, was very loose on the spade connector on the coil. I cleaned it and bent the tabs in a bit to tighten it up.
Fired right up!!
It turns out the vacuum line I connected was supposed to be there so I reconnected that.
The truck still seems to run rough, and I think its lacking power. I guess I should check the timing next...
