One day i will get a moose pump or some other highperormance pump from him too meet my needs, when i purchesed my pump i got now i didnt have the time or enough money to send to him and i needed a pump, so i got one rebuilt around here, but i plan on later sending it to mel for him to get it moosed,
Mel is a real good guy, he went in debt to get a pump made so that it would break new grounds in idi performance, he didnt have to do that, but he did, Im sure he makes money on this, if he didnt make any money he would go into debt, he is using his own fuel and vehicles and time to run the pumps over to the rebuilder then run them to the post office and ship them, so i think the little money he makes off it it is well worth it, i dont beilieve in people ripping people off, but i dont think mel is ripping anyone off,
I have bought one thing from mel and that was a high rpm injection pump spring, and i was going threw a hard time then and he was nice enough to hold onto it for me, i know he got frustrated at me because i had him to get it then i wasnt able to get it at that time, but i got him the money, and got my spring, also i while back i monkeyd with an injector and sent to him to test, and he didnt charge a dime to test that injector thats taking time out of his day to do something, so i please ask that no one do anything in anyway to ruin the availible moose ip because we will all be sorry
I forgot I was a member here.. I have played with some pumps over the years and the timing curve/delivery and who knows what else may be whats changed in the moose pump, the deal is the pump has to come clear apart IIRC to adjust , so much research went into this and I know countless hours of test bench time. Not something I would ever want to do, I plan on sending a freshly rebuilt pump to Mel one day soon and have it moosed.
Towcat, welcome to the forum. Wish it could be under better circumstances.

I'm not much of a Ford gasser person, so the draw here isn't as strong for me. Overall, it seems like a good group here like the gang over at OB. I just didn't want to see internal problems at OB get carried over to other sites. That's why I felt I needed to say something here today I made some new contacts with the moderator gang here tho.
The Moose pump has more mods than jsut a larger bore piston. There is a lot of intricate timing work done to get the flow in the proper RPM range for turbo motors.
Ask anyone running one. They are more than satisfied.
I ALWAYS treat peeps with respect, until they do something that causes Me to not respect them.
Let's just say that jsnap has just crossed that line.

Anyone want to know where to get a so called Moose pump send me a private message and ill get the info to you and you save around 200.00 and lord knows we can all afford to save. It seems politics caused my post to be edited
The Moose pump only comes through one source. Anything else will not be a Moose pump. YOU may think it is, but only the builder who does the Moose pumps will be able to make you a true Moose pump. Said builder don't want to do business with anyone without the person who worked with him and who came up with the "Moose" name acting as a mediator between the builder and the end customer. It's simple as that, regardless of how you understand the situation. And it wasn't politics that caused your post to be edited, it's your own attitude.

Last summer, I bought the factory-spec rebuild version of the "Moose Pump" It's affectionately referred to as a "Baby Moose pump" Being as my truck is NA, it couldn't handle the fuel delivery.
My truck ran on it's old pump, but I knew it should be able to run better. Mel hand-delivered my pump to me! How's that, for customer service??? I installed it myself and was up and running in a couple of hours. I immediately notice a power gain and my trip home, showed a significant MPG gain! Keep in mind, that I did not replace the injectors at the same time. They'll come later and will come from Type4
I've heard lots of horror stories about rebuilt pumps failing quickly, if they even worked at all. I am completely pleased with my pump from Mel and his rebuilder and will buy from him/them again...... In a heartbeat! IMHO the pump was well worth the price! However, you really can't put a price on great customer service!
