Just bought replacement headlights from ebay. Took a quick look at them, and it seems pretty labor intensive to install...has anyone done them? Any tricks? Thanks guys!
lots of fun LOL you got to remove both battery tray to get to 2 10mm nuts on each side at bottom behind park light and two screws on top of each light door (trim) and there is some locks on each adjustment screw that has to be removed
Kris..... hate to tell you this but have fun... lol. I know that there is a pretty good write up for this swap but I can't find it at the moment, I'll keep looking at post up if I find it.
i bought a whole new header panel grill and headlight set on ebay and you Dont need to remove the battery trays just the batterys, I put my complete setup on in 2 hours, but thats the whole header panel which is the hardest part, Just to do the headlights should be maybe 30min to an hour all depends on how quick you are with a wrench, Its pretty much the 2 10mm bolts and the philips screws that go into the header panel.
Well the site that had the best write up out there no longer has it because of a dispute between members haha figures. But here is the site if you want to try and see if they got it back http://www.olderfseries.net/ and i also searched it on here and this is where i originally found that write up https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...-assembly.html. Hope this helps
Rick is right. Just two screws on top and two nuts on back lower.
The nuts are the hardest to get to because of the limited room. Removing the batteries will make it much easier although I have done one of mine with the battery still in but dropped the nut when reinstalling.
I would recommend removing the batteries.
