That looks great!

You should spray it with line-X as a final touch IMO.

yep Bill I agree 100 percent. I planned on spraying it with some kind of rubber bed liner. Not sure just yet. I haven't really started welding anything on it yet. I wanted to get everything in place before I did anything. Tomorrow morning I am going to pull my truck up into the shop and pull my bumper off and get the final measurements on the mounting brackets. That way I can tack the brackets into place and then just throw it up onto the truck and make sure everything fits the way it should.

I tried to rep you but I am all out.

Will it be a full brush guard or just the bumper?

haha another good question. I am not sure yet. I plan on mounting fog lights relatively close to the center of the bumper just like how 2000's super duties are. Once I have the lights mounted up, and the trailer hitch and license plate back in place, that is when I am going to decide on what I will do. I am just not sure exactly how it will look, so I am going to take it one step at a time

If you're close to long island, you could check these guys out, when your shopping for a coating for the bumper.

I used to make and sell these. These are my father's that I built for him. Let me know if you run into any walls and maybe I can help.

hey SkyFox thanks for the link...I live in Suffolk County on Long Island so I will def. look into Pride Custom Coatings. I am not sure how much they would charge to do 2 bumpers, but I think when I am all done I will give them a call and get a quote. Thank you very much for the link!

I will take a few more pictures tomorrow and Friday. Ill get some with it on the truck, and some pictures of the mounting brackets, hitch, and lights!

Thanks for all the comments everyone!

Glad I could help. Seeing how this thing is turning out really makes me wish I could weld.

Well I made a bit more progress today...The entire outer shell of the bumper is complete. All that is left to do is weld it up. I plan on running MIG on the outside to fill it in, then I am going to grind it all smooth. I am pretty sure I will either run some 7018 on the inside or I am going to run Flux Core. Either or will do the job.

I also mocked up the mounting brackets, and made some temporary supports so I could bolt it up to the truck just to make sure that everything fit the way it should before I go and make it permanent!

Tomorrow I am going to try and mock up my fog lights, if I ever figure out where UPS dropped them off at haha. And I am also going to try and get the trailer hitch situation figured out.

I will throw some pictures up tonight once my buddy sends em my way.
