That link shows a similar idea to the link I found. They both would work, but I'm not really fond of either one.

Mine originally had bumper like yours. I always thought that the bumper with the openings looked the best. Here is what I did with mine. I made brackets to mound a pair of 550 Hella lights in it. Sorry to stray off topic.

They are Hella 550 series. You have your choice of fog or driving lights. Fog produce a short wide beam and driving produce a longer narrower beam.

I made brackets to mount the to the holes that are already in the back of the bumper. They should come with a good wiring harness with a relay already. You can just get power from the starter solenoid.

EDIT: It looks like Skyfox already beat me to it. All the stuff you need to know should be in that thread. By the way, when are you going to get some Skyfox?

Well, I just have to decide if I want fog or driving lights. The factory Fog Lights on my 00 mounty (when used with the low beams) seme to illuminate the same amount of roadside as the brights without shining way down the road. I haven't used driving lights before, so I don't know what to expect.

Which lights did you buy & how much does it help visibility?

It is my understanding that driving lights are actually supposed to shine further ahead than your regular low beams, but at the same time provide wider and lower beam than the highs - basically they fit between the lows and the highs as far as distance and width of the light pattern on the road go. Fogs, I dunno, they seem kinda useless to me - I got a pair of small floods on mine, they light up nice and wide and low without actually blinding anyone from the oncoming traffic.

The fog light has a more frosted look and the driving light has a more clear looking lense. Mine are actually Hella XL auxilary headlights. They actually are a compromise between both. I think they are great. I don't believe they are mady anymore though. If you look at mine close, you will see that the lense is sort of divided into 4 patterns and is a hyrid of fog and driving.

The driving lights brighter, and if you angle them down a little you can use them in normal driving and bad weather. If you just want additional foreground illumination get the fogs with offer a short wide beam.

so what about something like this? Another best of both scenario
Piaa 940 combo Fog, Driving Lamp

Looks like this guy cut out that center peice of plastic, but with these lights, you really wouldn't need to. I think I'd also get a 3 position rocker switch instead of the goofy button setup they've got.

That would be just fine, but loose the tinted blue bulb junk. I actually considered something like that before. Thats weird on his truck and in the pic on the website it looks like it has clear bulbs. Thats good.

I just referenced the web pages that I got the pics from. The blue tinted ones call the light a piaa-9491-940-series. The ones without the blue tint are 9461 940 series. Both are PIAA 940's, just different revisions or something.

Thats cool. Stay away from the blue bulbs. They actually emit less light and also look ricey anyway. If those weren't 200 bucks, I might have bought them. The Hellas are about 90 dollars. If you look on Ebay you can find deals. I got mine for about 50 bucks.
