A nice sunny vacation on a beach with white sand is what I'm dreaming about.(a coconut with fruity drink would be nice, too!)
Everyone needs to take a deap breath and back away from the key board.
Go to that island in you head.
hahahahaha... i can't bring the fruity drink in my head. just kegs upon kegs of beer. LoL. i too can't figure out why ppl got into on tuners.. if only the right ppl had answered this to start with and the ppl who wanted to get into it about tuners stayed out then this thread would still be on page 1!!! LOL. like said above, everyone should calm down for a bit and come back.
to the OP. i'm with everyone else. this is likely weak batterys or bad battery terminal connections.
What I think is funny is that the op hasn't posted back to the thread. There's 3 pages of bs now, with nothing from the op!!! I'm guessing if the truck started and ran fine over his trip w/o the chip, then it's not the batteries. But that's just my guess. It could easily be that he didn't give the correct pcm code when he ordered the chip, but that's speculation as well.
However, he hasn't responded so we really have NO IDEA!!!
If all issues with Ford trucks were dealt with in private between customer and company, there wouldn't be much to talk about on these forums now, would there?
To the contrary, I believe these boards are a great place to find help for problems, as long as it doesn't degenerate to personal attacks like we have seen against, oh say Gale Banks and more recently, others...................
There is plenty to talk about. What my concern is when someone buys a product or service, (which hasn't been determined to be the case in this thread BTW) they should take it up with the company first to get the problem resolved. After it is said and done, they can come back here and talk about how they had a problem with so-n-so at first, but they were extremely helpful and we got the problem resolved. That looks good on the companies part too. Good customer service is not so common any more. When you find a company that has that, they have found a customer for life. There are plenty of threads on here about folks doing mods, encountering various and assorted problems that are not related in any way shape or form with any company. Most of it is just routine problems that pop up after a vehicle gets some miles and age on it.
I hope this is a better explanation of what I meant.
As for personal attacks, you and I see plenty of that in another forum on this site, and it does detract from the conversation.

So when my fuel drain valve leaks, I should call a Ford dealership, let them fix it, and afterward come here and talk about how great or lousy their customer service is.
Gotchya.

Yeah, let's play with electrical components without disconnecting the batteries and then blame it on the tuner. This crap is getting real old, real fast.
^^^^sensitive huh?

Everyone on this forum gets butthurt over the littlest things. The guy's title is most likely sarcastic. Or maybe he's trying to get some posts in it to figure out WTF is wrong and the a way to get posts quick in your thread is to put a tuner name or windowed block in your title.
If you ignore the tuner addition and look a the continuous ticking under the hood mention, that's classic weak battery symptoms. It's been mentioned to charge the batteries and try again. Let it play out.

He did not specifically say he took the truck on the trip so it "could" still be battery related.
It would be nice if he would check back with some kind of update.

True!! I guess I was assuming (just as everyone else is doing) that he took the truck on the trip. But I re-read the 1st post and it doesn't say that he did. I'd like to see what he posts back up for updates too!

Look, I had the batteries disconnected when I installed, both times. The click is constant once i try to turn the truck over. I have to take the batteries off again to get it to quit clicking, regardless if the key is in.
