Looking for new pair of boots, current pair or Vasque that came from REI only cause i had a credit, they look nice and are super comfortable but really more a hiking boot and wore out in a couple months.
I've been told that White's Smoke Jumper boots are the best there is. Just wondering if anyone has any input. I looked at them today at Big Rs and they sure are nice but I really don't see much difference between anything else and if not for all the reviews and the huge price difference I would have just passed them up without a second glance.
I have a pair of whites boot, they are a heavy duty boot. I know most of their boots are made here in Spokane. They do take a few days to break in.
You can get them custom made for your foot if you're not in a hurry. Nicks boots are also a handmade local boot, as good as the Whites boots. Neither brand is cheap but if you need that kind of boot they can't be beat. Real good foot support, very comfy (after break in).
I've had 3 pairs of White's, and yes they are good boots. However, They've gotten bigger than they used to be with a lot of national distributors, and my opinion is their quality has declined in the last few years.
I'd suggest you try Drew's boots in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Drew's Boots. Buy Drew's direct and save!
They build them like White's used to, and a little less expensive, too.
