Engine Question

I have a 95 Ford F250. Two pistons are bad I found a block with pistons and crank installed for a really resonable price that only has 68000 on it. The engine in my truck is a 95, but wondering if my heads will both on and will it work with my 95 5.8 351?

Not really sure what your asking about . You have a 95 F 250 with a bad motor , one of the motors is a 95 351 , what motor was in the truck & what motor are you replacing it with ?? Year & size ?? The 95 should be a roller motor . The difference between the 302 heads & 351 heads is the head bolt size . The 351 has bigger head bolts than the 302 , but both will work , so if you put 302 heads on a 351 they need to be drilled for bigger head bolts...Lew

My Engine

Currently my truck has a 351 5.8 litre. I am replacing with a 90' 5.8 block 351. It should work right?

Your heads will bolt right on no problem , if the 95 has a roller cam & the 90 is a roller ready block you should be fine ....Lew

'90 5.8 block is not roller ready so you're stuck with a flat tappet cam unless you buy linkbar roller lifters.

If the 90 block is not roller ready will my heads still bolt up and work OK or would I need to change cam and lifters?

The heads are fine , like conanski said the 90 block is not roller ready , so you will need to change cams unless you use a roller block . So thats up to you ..Lew

One last question. The guy with the shortblock is interested in selling the whole engine for 100 more. I check a couple sources and they said it would work as long as I use my Intake Manifold (mine has air going right into intake and not head). The only other differences would be that I would have to use a different rear main seal, hole for knock sensor would need to be tapped out, and my accessories.

Just wanted to check to get one more opinion before I bought it.

Thanks,

Rich
