I am trying to scan an 07 F250 for my nephew. He is having rough running issues when cold, and then it smooths back out. I am using autoenginuity, and the scanner will not work on his port. I looked at the wire behind it, and they all look good. It scans fine on my truck. Is there a fuse that may be blown causing it to not read? The truck is cranking up and running fine as well, other than a few minutes when cold. Any ideas on the port not working?
My 04 does have a fuse, check the manual, it should be listed. Good luck.
Edit: My fuse# is 12 hooked with the Cigar lighter. For 2004
Interesting. He said his cig lighter has not been working. I just got done testing all the fuses with a multi-meter, and only found bad ones on the trailer lights, and trailer battery charging. Headed out to check fuse number 12. Thanks for the info.
That was the ticket. Fuse number 12 was popped, and the scanner worked well after replacing that.
I noticed his truck was turning over slow, and his battery voltage was only at 10.2 volts. It jumped up to 13.4 after cranking it so I assume he has a bad battery since the alternator output was fine.
His FICM looked fine as far as voltage goes, so I am guessing that is not his problem. Said when it is cold, he has no power at all, can push the pedal to the floor and the truck wont go. I asked him to check the color of the smoke next time it does it. It did have current codes of p0275 and p0200 so I will search the forums and see what I can find for those.
