c6 transmission

just to double check in an 1987 c6 auto tranny would you run type F or mercon fluid? thanks

ok, so lets say some "idiot" decided to run type F instead, how bad would this be for said "idiot"?

Im not 100% but I think the Type F has a friction additive and .... I think it is very bad for some poor " person " I kind of hope for there sake I'm wrong.

id be droppin the pan, draining the converter, and changin filter. drive for a week and repeat.

ford placed small drain plugs on the engine side of some torque converters. may '86 bronco had a c6 and had one

can you expect to get all of the fluid out with draining the converter and taking off the pan?

no, if you have a trans cooler there will be old fluid in it unless you drain your lines out. then there will only be a small amount left but not enough to harm
