Does Jim or anyone else on here have the ability to test a chip to see if it is burnt up or not. I have a hypermax that came with my truck but the previous owner stated he thought it was burnt up. If it was could they reburn it or revamp it, it was a 50 horse chip I think.
junk any way! lol if it was dead, i dont think the truck would run right or start at all. at least a check engine light. a 50hp tune from a tuner that cans tunes for the 7.3 wont be noticed that much over stock
hypermax is a great chip for a stock truck. i had one in my 2000 7.3 low egts and good milage. thats all hypermax deals with are powerstrokes so they really know their stuff. its not like an edge or superchip. id call hypermax to see if it can be reburned. i dont know if jody or tw could burn it. like always im going to suggest sending your computer to dp tuner and they will burn any program you want onto it for like $80
that sounds fair enough. I called hypermax to see if I could send it to them and let them check it for me. They said they would but it would cost like 50.00 for them to look at it. I don't think the chip itself was like 250-300 dollars.
