That is not in the instructions so a newbie would not do that. Only a vet could figure that out from experience

has anyone ever had this before? any solution, i am positive ive followed the procedures right and have the gaskets facing the correct way

Make sure there isn't an old element gland o-ring in the bottom of the bowl. They can slip off and not come out with the old filter.

I had this trouble a week ago, i took it off and thought the o ring might be pinched< it wasn't and I put it back on tightened it again and it solved the problem.

thanks for all your help, pulled it off inspected and put it back in and no leaks, warmer today maybe that helped.

Lubing that beveled o-ring with some fuel helps it seal up better as you tighten the lid.
