i own a 2002 lincoln navigator 4wd.
today when i was driving it i noticed a rattle noise coming from the under the center console of the front....
i wana guess its the heat shield clamps.. but i dont want to be wrong
plz help!!!!
its under the truck but the sound is come from around the center console area of the car.
All i have to do to make the sound happen is accelerate i hear a rattle noise.
does it do it in reverse and drive? you can crawl under the truck with it running and listen to the converters one of the shields could be coming loose or it could be the converter coming apart, look for signs of damage like you hit something, or if you want to just guess go to a part store and get a worm clamp that is about a foot throw it on the passenger side converter ( that is why it sounds like the center)
i only heard it most when i drove, but ill check today if it does it in reverse also. there isnt a problem when the car is in idle, only when i accelerate and cruising around. okay ill post about what happens when i check the converters.
