Shake Rattle and Roll

I have a 01 F150 and like so many others have the dreaded rattle! When I accelerate at higher speeds I have a rattle under the hood. If I am going say 30 mpr and step on the gas, i get a rattle under the hood. My rattle is associated with acceleration at high speeds. What could it be? Any ideas?

Thanks for the advise. I should have been more specific. When I have the knock or rattle, it occurs when i have my truck tuned re-config. I have a hyper-tech programer. When I run my truck stock there is no rattle. When I run it modified I have a rattle? Does that make a difference. I guess I will just do an all around tune up and see if that fixes it.
