Can these springs be installed without getting a lift. I don't particularly car for 16's and a lift. So if I don't install the block in the rear, is there a way to keep the vehicle level? Does the front get a block too?
Depending on the motor, you will get a 1-2" of lift. With the 285's they fill up the wheel well better. With out the block in the back, the front lifts up and makes the back squat, hence the block to level off.
The whole point of the expercise was to get the bump stops off the axle and leave a little bit of room for the shocks to work without bottoming out on the stops all the time. Way smoother of a ride, and some say less axle wrap.
No, with the v-10 it will be closer to 2". With the diesel motors, them being heavier, you get less lift.
Here is mine with the winter rims on, 265/75/16. Quite the bit of room in the wheel wells.
Here is a pic with the summer 285/75/16. It is hard to see, but they fill up the area way better, and don't look so out of place.
So with my V10 I could potentially only get 1" of lift? I think that would be just fine.
AlaskanEX, what size wheels are in your pics? Are they the 20's in your sig?
in the summer i run the 20s. but that was before the lift so it wont look the same. it wont be nice enough to take the snow tires off untill march/april so i'll have to wait for pics w/the lift and 20s.
currently i have stock 16" wheels with 235/85 16 tires. which are narrower but pretty much the same height as the stock 265/75 16s.
and btw, i ended up with almost 3" of lift in the front and 2" in the rear.
here it was stock with the 265/75 16s
here is with the X code springs and F-350 blocks..and 235/85 16 tires
If you change the front srings and the rear blocks do you need to change shock length or does it work well with stock shocks?
I found that with the rancho 9000's the front were fine, in fact I now have some travel room for the shock to work, where before it looking like there was no room for compression. The back ones gave no issues either. Others have used the f250 beilsten stock # for the front X #'s for the rear.

Thanks, that is what a good day charter with a good operator gets ya. I'm in the process of looking for my own boat because I'm tired of the "we should go fishing sometime" that you always hear but never get to actually do with friends and their boats.
I think that the X looks closer to what the 250 looks like after the spring swap. Some have found that a 6" lift on the X measures out to about a 4" lift on the 250.

i'm still running stock 93k miles shocks...i know shoot me lol but they are fine with the blocks/springs. also the ride improved 10 fold with the new springs..insted of the huge THUD over the smallest bump before. i was hitting the bump stops very very often.
also, at work i've had the chance to park next to stock f-350s with the plow prep pkg(same front springs that i'm using) and they sit almost identical.
