Yes, there is a better version. Go to your parts store or muffler shop and get a set of metal ones. I think mine are steel. They will last much longer. You're exhaust system must be in good shape, with no wiggling or flex in the pipes. If it's not, the composite gaskets will wear out very fast.
Dave, 390 says it well. I might add, before you install any more, strap your system up tightly, tis the movement that is causing the gasket to ware out, not the exhaust.
Dave, don't mean no disrespect, but thats why there are sales people on the counters at the parts house, so you can find the price.
Dave, my steel donuts cost me about $275, but the parts guy threw in a custom bent, installed, and fully guaranteed 2" dual ehxaust system for free! Good deal, huh? Actually, I think they're about ten bucks each.
I took apart the other side today, and found that it didnt have that donut thing, it had just a flat gasket, so I made a new one out of gasket material. why is it this way? John, I wanted to know how much they were so that I would at least have a rough idea before I go to the parts house, because it is a ways away.
I see, some times you guys that have to travel a couple o days to town could find prices different, from those in competative markets.

my ISP is on a big mountain and I have a fire in my back yard, when I want to send a message, I grab a big blanket. as for that gasket, was it this way from the factory? or did somebody screw up?
