I have an issue with my turn signals. My right side signals never work, when i turn the lights on the turn signal element illuminates. Does anyone know why this could be happening?
I had the exact same problem, the exact same side. The soder that holds the ground wire in the plug (that holds your light bulb) corrodes and wont allow a good ground. I cut the ground wire off as close to the plug as I could, drilled a hole in the side of the plug and sodered the ground to the wire strip in the plug. Look inside your plug and you'll see what Im talking about
So i troubleshot the problem at the bulb end one more time and found it was even a dumber problem than you guys thought. It's almost embarrassing to say that the bulb was not installed correctly in the socket and both contacts were being charged.
Moving on to the next question...
I have two wires under the dash that i cannot figure out what they do. The first is a green wire probably 14 gauge, it has a black single plastic connector the more note worthy part of this wire is that it has a black rubber fastener on it about 2 inches back from the connector. I can't for the life of me figure out what it powers and where the fastener attaches to. Any suggestions?
It sounds like it's for the Cigar Lighter, but not sure because you didn't state if there is any secondary color on the wire or not. Stripes or Dots or hashes etc...
#54 Green/Yellow stripe. Courtesy lamp Circut: Powers: Cigar Lighter, Cargo Lamp, Glove Box Lamp, Vanity Mirror, AM Digital Radio, courtesy lamp door switches, and the engine compartment lamp.
There is another Green wire, #584 Green/Blue stripe: Powers the seatbelt Warning/Buzzer
I don't believe this wire has a stripe or dashes it's just light green. It's on the passenger side, and i think it is part of the bundle that connects to the Tstat controls that run to the resistor. The blower and heater work perfectly though.
