My turn signals sometimes work very rapid and sometimes they work at normal speed with no rhym or reason. Sometimes one turn signal works rapidly and the other at a normal speed. Is this normal? Am I missing some feature to them? Thank you
The truck only has 138 miles on it so I havn't checked for a burned out bulb. It's weird, when I start the truck the signals are always rapid then after driving it for a while they will work at normal speed then sometimes go back to flashing very rapidly. My truck is at the dealer for a Fab Fours rear bumper and they said they would check it out. I'll post their results if they actually find out what's going on. I never have much faith in the dealer's mechanics. Maybe I should because it's beyond me.
My turn signals do this when my snowplow is on the truck. Do you have the LED lights? I'm thinking that body module programming has something to do with it.
Hyper-blinking is usually a case of a loss of unexpected voltage drop or amperage draw on a circuit (CANbus sensing). So a bulb going out is a popular one yes, also some peeps have tried to upgrade to LED bulbs in their incandescent light sockets which will also cause the hyperblinking. BUT, with our all LED vehicle (minus vanity lights), I can't see this as an issue.
I added an LED light bar but it hyper blinked since day one and it does it whether the light bar is on or not and it does it intermitently. Hopefully the dealer can figure it out.
I had the dealer install Fab Fours winch bumper installed that has extra turn signal lights within the bumper. Apperantely Ford's system is touchy because the change in electrical resistance in the system makes the turn signals hyper flash. They told me that Ford just came out with a bulliten to fix this problematic situation. I sure hope so!
Yep! I didn't realize you had changed it from stock. Ford's even having some issues with factory pick up deletes flashing too quickly, that's why I thought maybe you had a bad connection with the bed or something. Aftermarket stuff that has more lights is definitely the problem.
FYI, My dealer did the flash per Ford's bulletin and the turn signals work fine now. The mechanic said that I could now run LED lights if I wish with no problems (I have an XLT trim level).
