my 89 f 250 custom starts for about 15-45 seconds then cuts out like theres a vacum leak some where. i checked all the vacum lines and didnt seem to find a leak. what could be wrong
Could be any one of a 100 things, but since there is virtually no useful information in the original post, the best thing to start with is pull the codes.
Engine, transmission, miles, recent repairs or work you did, when did the problem start, is it doing anything else out of the ordinary, any noticeable drop in mileage, etc. Basically anything that will help us diagnose the problem.
what kind of useful information are you looking for?
Lets start with your motor What size it is?, explain better how it cuts out. Does it just shut down, sputter to a stop, What happens if you try to give it some gas, ( in other words does it only do it a a idle or can you rev it up to 1500 or so rpm and still cut out.
Will it start right back up? or do you have to let it sit for a while.
check for codes, If no codes put a fuel pressure gauge on the rail and see what kind of pressure you get while its running, and what it does as the motor dies.
ok lets see its a japser 5.0 v8. im not suire what the tranny is its a new truck to me. its got 14000 miles on this motor, i no the tranny was rebuilt a coup[le months ago and the problem started after i brought it home and had it sit for two weeks. but thwe guy selling it had it sit for 3 months and it started right up and it ran fine. i did but replace that dash.
I wonder if the PCM is losing the signal from the PIP sensor when it warms up because of a loose wire or bad connection inside the distributor. You might or might not get a code for that, but you should definitely start with checking the codes. See fordfuelinjection.com for more info on pulling codes.
Can anyone help me! I'm sorry for jumping in this thread like this but my buddy has a 05 f250 6.0 and it is dumping raw fuel into the motor what could be the problem?

I'm not sure but in addition to hijacking someone else's thread you've done it in the wrong forum. Try the 6.0 forum and start your own thread.
