Hey guys, Ive been looking around and i see that some of you intercool your early trucks...Does anyone have a write up or a thread about "How to" intercool them? What are the benefits you get from intercooling? Is it worth doing? What does it usually cost to do make it up? Thanks!
Well I know that there is a very good write up around here somewhere but i can't remember who wrote it off the top of my head. They can be done fairly cheap, around 4-500 dollars depending on how vigilant you are on ebay and you can use either a 6.0 or 7.3 cooler. The benefits would not be very noticable on a stock truck, but once you start throwing some power at the truck it becomes needed very quickly especially if you tow heavy. I remember some people saying that they saw a 2-300 degree drop in egt's after they put on their cooler.
Ya sorry been busy today with school sheet. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...aust-pics.html thats just his set-up and i think that Tjbeggs had side exit pipes on his truck at one point to. Might want to look at his webshots and see if he still has the pictures in there of his set-up.
I like that..Im going to have mine bent, so all you really see is a 5" tip..Im going to try and have it so you wont see the pipe. I really wanted stacks, but i have a nice tool box in the bed i rather have.
well what do you use the bed of the truck for? cuz you can still keep the tool box in there with the stacks you will just go down to a 6 footish bed. If you decide to go infront of the rear wheels then i'll just make sure you know that you will constently be cleaning the rear wheels. Cuz when you start rollin' the coal it covers the wheels.
