Ok I hear you is it going to be mainly off road or a daily driver what tranny are you going to use.
mostly offroad but i will drive it around town once in a while to scare the kids, our town is only 8 miles across so its a small town, i got the trans transfercases ready im just working with positioning, np435 trans, to np203 gear box to np205 gear box, for a doubler setup, with a hydralic clutch, 14 bolt rear end detroit locker5:13 gearing and dana 60 front with arb 5:13 gears
thats about the jist of it, been real busy with my new daugher to get much done, plus its colder then heck here.
ya im trying to make it a capable rig, and offroading up here the bodys get destroyed so im not to concerned with it looking stock, going stock looking would be easy thats the way i did the idi in my 75 f250
Yea my 76 has the 6.9 everything else is stock.
Nah john my bronco has a 400 I hate them. I bought a 460 which I do like but an IdI will I think with 1/2 ton running gear with 3.55's and and overdrive break 20 mph, I hope close to 25 and the 73 to 79 fords are my all time favorite rigs so I keep them forever.
So I can either spend the money to chamge it over to a 460 and rebuild it every 10 years or install an IDI and it will probably last the rest of my days.
Besides that I needed a fuel pump for my 400 in my wrecker today and the local (25 miles) parts houses including napa have quit stocking mechanical fuel pumps so I get it in the morning, so it needs anIDI too.
i just love idi's they are mechanical and simple.. no computer crap.. thats what makes them so reliable. so i trust them when im in the middle of no where with my truck.
LOL all I have to do if I get to thinking I want a stroke is look at there forum for 10 minutes. I find myself miles from a town or shop or even a wrecker and like the ability to carry a mininum spare parts and basic tools and get myself home or back to civilation.
I dont need a moisture sensitive sensor making me walk.
I've visited the Stroke forum many times, and every single time i've been there. I came across threads that has to do with either engine codes, or messed up sensors.
