One could also sink a huge post into the ground secured with concrete.
Then put a huge chain on it and padlock that same chain to the truck every night to something secure like the reciever hitch or tow eye.
It wouldn't do any good if you are not at home and someone tries to steal your truck.
But at home, it would make a pretty big noise when that chain jerks straight.

Not a bad thought, but what's to stop someone from cutting the chain with bolt cutters, or the lock for that matter?
As the guys who took this truck have shown, if a thief wants it bad enough, they WILL get it.

No system is 100%, and I'm thinking a chain that is big enough to not easily be cut with your standard jaw cutters.
Have you ever tried to cut a big padlock with a large set of bolt cutters?
I live in El Paso, right on the border with Juarez, I will keep an eye out for your truck! A few years ago the in-laws had a Ford Taurus stolen, and somehow it was recovered in Juarez a few days later (but that is not the usual outcome). My brother is a contractor and had a F250 work truck stolen from the mall here (full of tools too). Hope they find it.
Oh, I called Lo-jack, it is not available in my area either (El Paso, TX). Maybe someone can start a new thread on anti-theft ideas, like kill switches, GPS systems, jimmy jammers, etc. There must be a more effective way to prevent theft.

No I haven't.
I suppose with a large enough chain and lock it would keep the crooks from trying to mess with it.
1/2" chain with a big-azz hardened lock would be impossible to cut with anything less than the jaws of life. You could grind through them, but that would just give me time to drink a cup of coffee and get both of my pistols ready.....
I'm going to have to do something different obviously. I thought I was doing good. The wheel boot gave me a big piece of mind, but they wanted it bad. It still wasn't enough to send them down the street to another truck. I'm sure they had cased the situation prior to the theft. They knew what kind of equipment they would need in order to get to it. My buddy down the street has a big chain and lock, and locks his to the tree. But a big set of bolt cutters would take care of that, and they would scope it out before hand. I'll definitely move some things around on my property so I can park whatever I replace it with behind a big *** gate, but what do you do if you drive the truck to work, or park it anywhere else. They stock parking lots at hospitals and other places where they know you are going to be away from the vehicle for a long period of time.
Sorry to hear about this, pisses me off, so I can imagine how you feel.
p.s.
I'll sell you mine....I will be in Phoenix sometime by the end of the month.....
I live out on the west side of ABQ and have not had a problem yet. I bought my truck two years ago and right after I bought it there was a lot of Superdutys being stolen in ABQ even off the dealer lots. I went and got a Ravelco to keep from driving off but if someone wants it they may get lead poisening
I didn't know there were so many of us around here in Albuquerque either. That Ravleco product looks great. I can almost guarantee you though, they did not start my truck. The alarm did not go off and they were silent. If they can't start it they will tow it off and then instead of selling the truck to be used for drug transport they will chop it up and part it out. They don't care. I would like to hear from an expert about what you can do. As for the eating lead part, I always thought that too. Had the whole scenario in my head. My .45 is under the matress I go out the back door and around the side of the house and suprise them in the act. But obviously that didn't work out.
I would like to think I would blow .45 holes in said thief, but the law says I can't. Gota stand there and talk to the 911 operator while they steal my rig. At least that the way I read it here in Abq. Am I right?
