my neighbors bedroom is literally 10 feet from where my truck was parked. My dog barks at anything. I am with you, dollies was the only way to get the front up and rolling.
Dont take this the wrong way. Im sure you paid your bills. Sounds to me like someone with the access or friend of a repo man took your truck. That could be an employee of asset recoery firm local to you. With that being said..I am good friends with a repo man here where I live. I help him when I have time.....taking your truck quietly is alot easier than you think. It takes a matter of 30 seconds to wheel jack it and drag it. If this is how your vehicle was taken, its likeyl it was a gasser truck with a stinger lift..then loaded to a rollback. Then again I have seen idiots try to tow using the wheel lifts....and no Im not talking about the wheel dolly on the back of a rollback.
...Second, how the hell does a thief get a stolen truck across the border into Mexico? Ive never been down there before, but I thought they had the border pretty much closed up so people had a hard time getting through, let along a big truck?
There are still areas that are pretty desolate and these trucks get pounded driving thru the desert.
Dude, so sorry to hear. This just stinks that you did all that prevention and they still got it. Just thinking outloud and being optimistic. Maybe... just maybe it's still stateside because usually the Mexican coyote runners who steal these trucks to run illegals back and forth do more of the smash and run thefts and not prepared with the necessary equipment to get through a club, alarm and wheel locks. There are other trucks that are not as locked up. Just a positive thought. Maybe a cop will spot it.
Sorry to hear that. Actually a guy I talk to on another forum had his Cummins stolen and the police found it a week or two later. He had an alarm and club on the steering wheel. He lives in Abq. NM.

I've had the pleasure of catching someone trying to steal my Jeep. I beat that punk until a police officer got there and whooped my ***. The thief wound up in the ICU, then jail, then deported to Puerto Rico. I wound up with an officer apologizing to me and welcoming me to New Hampshire. He went over the law of protecting my property and belongings with force. It happened in Nashua, NH at the CVS downtown in broad daylight in 2001.
I too have a Viper and have to admit, even when it goes off in the middle of the night sometimes i don't hear it.
And guys...you are underestimating these thieves...they easily have a roll off and are dragging it up on the back, wheel boot or not. You really think they care if they cause a hair's worth of damage while doing it? They could have it up and gone in a matter of seconds, nary a sound to be heard.

God help the fuggers i catch trying to steal my stuff! the only thing they are gonna see is a flash from the business end of one of these:
Sorry for your loss, Its a damn shame.....Reading this thread boils my blood...Its very unfortunate what lengths we have to go through to keep our hard earned property in our own hands...
I hope you get her back, and the a$$****s that took it end up seeing the inside of a body bag...

Well the officer really got on my case for excessive force and I explained to him that everything went quiet and the next thing I knew, I was airborne, slammed belly down into the pavement with his knee in my back and my arm and hand being forced in a very unnatural position. He thought that was pretty funny and apologized for kicking my *** in less than a second. LOL. He was actually pretty cool.
I guess you're not allowed to protect your belongings by means of force here. I figured I'd move out west because of all the open space and lack of gun laws, etc... It's worse than the north east. Pathetic.
this chaps my a$$. you went through all that work to keep it safe and wake up to it gone. thats a crying shame. i hope the best for you and your family
I can't stand reading this stuff. In all honesty, I cannot imagine the thought process a crook goes through.
All we can do is take solace in the fact that it all comes out in the wash... maybe not immediately, but eventually.
I know in LA your vehicle is an extension of your home and thus your rights to protect family and belongings follow. There are plenty of cases in which this has been enforced. A man in NO was car jacked in his Hummer at a gas station, killed one and the other fled. DA didnt even bring charges. And don't forget the man in Houston i wish were my neighbor who shot and killed 2 thieves for robbing his neighbor's house...while standing in HIS yard! and they were unarmed IIRC.
I have CCW permit for LA so I'm packin Glock no matter where I am. I would never hope or wish it, but anyone messeth with me or mine, will not see the next morning.
