ICON 2.5" Leveling System for 2008+

I'm doing some research looking for small lifts for my 2009 F250 4x4. In my internet searching, I've come across the Icon 2.5" lift which looks appealing. I'd like some opinions here before I spend the cash.

The kit I'm considering includes progressive rate coils, new Icon shocks, and caster cams. It also includes 4" rear blocks and u-bolts. I'd be purchasing the optional track bar. The total price seems to be around $1300.

This kit interests me because I looks like it acutally improves the ride with the new coils. I'm not simply looking to jack my truck up 3" but would like a quality suspension. I've read the coils are softer than OEM for the first part of the suspension travel and get firmer than OEM the more they compress. This would be great if it's true; maybe it would help the front end flex a bit more off road? It would be nice.

Also, the ICON shocks included with the kit- are they any good for a truck that does very little towing or hauling? TruckToyz allows you to replace the ICON shocks for Bilstein shocks. Which would be best for me considering I'd like a ride a bit more supple than factory and not more firm?

I just want to make sure I do my research before droping this kind of cash. I'm not opposed to other recommendations as well. I's appreciate any insight you might be able to provide. Thanks

Seems alot of money for 2.5". I put 350 blocks in the rear and 1" spacer and 6000# springs in the front of my 08 5.4 and it looks good. If yours is a diesel you can put 2" spacer in the front. No need to change shocks and you would raise it about 2" for a couple hundred bucks.

I hear what you're saying about that being a lot of money... my wife said the same thing when I brought the idea up.

If I were to put just a spacer up front, would that create death wobble or mess with the castor? One thing that's really nice about factory suspension is that the alignment is great!

I don't think 6000lb coils would be good for my application, but I could be wrong. It wouldn't be the first time, LoL! How does your truck ride with the 5.4L and 6000lb coils? I currently have the 4800lb coils (I think).

Dang. $1300 for a 2.5" lift.

My suggestion to you (and I've done this a number of times) is to just go up a range on your factory ford coil springs. They are about $100 a pair shipped to your house, and take about 1 hour to install and they are factory Ford springs. Hands down the way to go if your looking for a nice level ride!

Here is a picture of my truck with the 'Snow Plow' package, which comes with the 5200# springs.

Here is a picture of my 2007 Diesel F350 DRW CC the day I brought it home. It came with the 6000# coil springs.

Here is a picture of the same 2007 Diesel F350 DRW CC installed with F550 7000# springs. Truck sat perfectly level, and beleive it or not, even though the capacity went from 6000# to 7000#, the truck drove and rode smoother than day 1.

I have put many leveling kits on many trucks from dodges to fords and never expeirenced a death wobble.
Heck, I never even had my front end aligned after doing the kits. Even on my Jeep - no wobble or alignment. My truck came with 5200# springs so the 6000# springs raised the front about 1" and I did not notice a difference in ride. Hard to tell the difference in ride unless you did a side-by-side test ... I guess. But I think your ride has to change even if you went with the 2.5" kit. You would just spend more $$ for about 1" more. You could save about $1000.00 by going w/blocks and springs w/a spacer

i recently just did a leveling kit and Bilstein shocks on my F350. I did not get the cam kit, but wish i did. I ended up taking my truck to get an alignment and they had their version of a cam kit to fix it, so now i still have a slight pull to one side, but i am thinking it is my aftermarket steering stabalizer being too stiff. Just purchased a dual setup. If i was you, i would DEFINITELY go for this kit, except i wouldnt get the trac bar, and would get a good dual steering stabalizer kit, such as the Icon with bilsteins. (comes out to the same price about)

Newton Lifts...

I have read a lot of great things about these guys - don't let eBay tune you off. I plan on doing this to my '08 F-250 in the spring.
