can you get a pic of the 10 beside the 8 intake just for my own greed.

also since you have one sitting there. do you see any area on the passanger rear top that might cause an oil leak. All i can see wouls be valve cover and head.

Don't have the factory V10 intake. I bought a used long block and it didn't have the intake on it. The oil leak will either be the valve cover or head gasket like on the 5.4L (very common on the 5.4L).

Where/how does the alternator bolt on? It looks like the pulley assembly sets where the alternator once bolted up.

The pulley assembly sits far enough forward for the alternator to be in the stock location. Here is a picture for visual reference.

Update:

Just purchased the rest of the parts needed to get started. Things might be slow going due to my dog getting hit by a truck. Medical bills come first for my little family member. I will keep you guys posted on the progress I make on it.

It would be much easier than fabbing up an intake manifold.

Good luck.

Parts are starting to show up. Got a polished midplate for $40 shipped to my door. The blower and other parts should show up this week. Here are some pics of the midplate on the engine.

Got the rest of the part to get started!

The supercharger, intake and intercooler showed up today! Now the tricky part of cutting and welding the two intakes together to make one large one.

Project looks very cool!
Given the larger displacement of the 6.8 over the lightning motor, and the fact that the lightning (with the standard pulley's) only makes 8lb, it will mean you will only be making 6.4 ish lb's.
Do you plan on increasing the pulley drive ratio to compensate?

Looks like an awsome project!

I would look at doing forged rods, the stock rods will be the motors weak link.

What are you doing to reprogram the PCM?

I would give sullivan performance a call. I asked about 3 years ago if they could fab up me a custom intake and they said no prob.

I'll shoot them an email and get back to ya.

Yes. I'm trying to get my hands on what the lighting guys call a 6lb lower pulley. If it makes too much boost I will install a Harley pulley on the blower which makes 2lb less than the lightning. This will also give me more surface for less belt slip.

I plan on running the stock bottom end on 8lbs of boost. This supercharger kit will be better than any kit on the market due to it being intercooled. Another plus on this kit is if any thing goes wrong I can get replacement parts at any ford dealership across the country!

Already have the spare motor that I'm doing the mock-up on. This is the motor I'm building for big boost. I already have diamond forged piston so all I need is the H-beam rods. That motor is a 2003 so it has the better spark plug holes in it so I don't have to worry about blowing them out. I have a friend that owns his own shop with a dyno and is very good with tuning fords. We will be using SCT software for the tune.
