That's the belt guard on my air compressor, lol. The lightning uses a water to air intercooler. I will mount the factory lightning heat exchanger in the front bumper (plan to anyways). I will know more once I get my hands on one.

sounds like a great idea. Are you going to leave everything else the same, IE injectors mostly. This sounds like my kinda project.

I can not see the pics. or find them in your albums.

I understand making them fit the 10 cyclinders, but how are you going to do that and maintain the the same size on top? Just cutting 2 8's in half and making 10, would leave you with a longer upper surface as well, I have not figured that part out not being able to see those pics.

I will run the stock 42 lb/hr lightning injectors for now. I only have one intake right now and working on getting the second one. I will just make a plate to sandwich between the modified lower and the intercooler mid plate. This plate will have the proper opening for the lightning supercharger.

If I follow you, you are going to make an adaptor? If so, why not make an adaptor for lighting charger to v10 lower? Could save work, and make money. Maybe I am still not catching your idea. Stupid gov pc will not let me look at photobucket.

The factory V10 lower does not have room for a intercooler. That's why I'm using the lightning lower to use the factory air to water intercooler.

Fabing stuff up is nothing new to me. I took a Eaton M90 supercharger off of a Thunderbird Supercoupe and put it on my 1991 5.0 bronco. It was intercooled and everything. He's a picture i dug up of it.

are the fronts the same between the 10 and 8? So you can use all the lightning brackets and pulleys?

It means what i thought. the eutectic point is .8% carbon in steel so hyper means more than .8 hypo means less. and more than .55% carbon in steel makes it a high carbon metal.

Its a little surprising that it doesn't become to brittle after forging with all that carbon, but those things could withstand some serious forces.

The front timing chain covers are the same but I think the lightning accessories drive is a 6 rib. Not a big deal as you can simple run a 6 rib crank pulley and belt on the 8 rib pulleys. I will have everything in a week so I can take pictures for everyone.

Has anyone tried a side mount blower? In that an eaton M112 is mounted to a bracket ont he side of the engine... Audi guys do this to thier A4s with 2.8L V6s as it has no room on top of the engine. They just line it up with the other pulleys, fab a tensioner plate that has two tensioners and they run a longer belt.

Sure you can do this but the M112 has a huge discharge opening. The amount of fab work to create an outlet from the blower to the intercooler/throttle body would be tricky. I'm shooting for using mostly factory ford parts aside from the cut up factory intake and custom fuel rails.
