trying to find out what i can use to eliminate the inside hood release, would really like to just have it outside instead of on the kick panel...if anyone has any ideas please let me know. truck is a 1988 f-150, or is there a way to modify the existing release?
You could hook something to where the cable from inside now hooks to. Just make sure you use something strong enough, secure it well, and make sure the handle part you devise can't get inside somewhere where you can't get to it.
I kinda like the idea, reminds me of the old cars. and if he moves it hows anyone gonna know. if ya hid it good enough aint no one gonna know. i'll be checking back to see.
My '87 F-150 hasn't had the handle in the cab since I got it. The cable broke at some point for the PO, so I reach my hand through the grille and give what's left of the cable a tug.
My '95 doesn't have a hood latch and has hood pins instead, again, the PO did it, but I like not having to go in the cab to open the hood.
I live in an area where I don't have to worry about anyone stealing anything out of my truck.
yeah thats kinda why i was thinkin about it, i have had vise grips for a while to pull it but it finally broke, and was just thinking of my 72 mustang how it just comes loose up front...thanks for the replies
this is how you do it.. break out your Inside hood pull rod, then glue it back in place just for looks ...
walk to the front of your engine... stick your hands thou the grid and pull in the blck cable pops your hood,, very simple easy and quick...
