so Santa brought me the bluetooth module for my HU and I have put the mic in four different places and still have a lot of complaints on phone calls. anyone find the perfect location. the software version is 1.6 on it and i am using an apple iphone 3GS. any help would be great. Santa is still researching the rear cameras for now - but when I pull the dash to install it - I want to hopefully have a remedy for this also. It is pretty much unusable right now. Thx, Mike
Problem was static but Kenwood told me to install the new update. I did that today and it appears to work real good now. Thanks, Mike. Also - best place I found was on the A-pillar also.
I have mine installed just to the right of my driver's side visor clipped in the headliner. I installed the BT module under the dash, but just underneath the black "accessory tray" and ran the mic cord above the steering column (but under the dash) over to the the A-Pillar, keeping the cord up high behind the dash gave me enough slack to run it behind the A-Pillar and tucked in the headliner all the way past the visior. No complaints about noise, static, softness, or WIND from window... I have occasionally talked with the window down in city driving (under 45) with good results.
But, it sounds like yours is doing pretty good after the update
Yes - it is all good now. it is right up by the grab handle where the plastic molding ends. It works awesome. Every now and then my stereo loses my phone, but not very common. I still have to read up on programming the numbers in to it because searching thru the phone book gets irritating. But I am very happy I put it in and am pleased with how it works. Thanks, Mike. Still trying to decide on a rear camera, but having been trying to find some backup leds that I like first.
While on the phone with conversations mine works wonderfully... However it does get finicky with common operation. I have an HTC touch Pro phone which is one of the problem children. Occasionally after a call is ended, the connection drops, then automatically reconnects. And sometimes I can search the phone book, and sometimes I can't.
I do have the speed dial phone numbers set, and they work fine. My issues greatly improved once I updated the firmware on my phone and my HU.
All in all, Even though it has issues... I still love it for all the other things it does.
