Clutch interlock switch
Clutch interlock switch
The clutch interlock switch is kind of fussy on this 86 Aerostar I just got. I was going to put a new one in, but I'd be even happier if I could just bypass it. Is this possible, and if so, how do you do it? Thanks.
Is that the switch that only allows the starter to engage when the clutch is released? I guess you can run a wire directly from the ignition switch to the starter relay. The same switch may also be used to switch off the cruise control, so I would not just bypass it, unless they are separate switches.
It's the switch that only allows the starter to operate when the pedal is depressed. It has a rod that's connected to the upper part of the pedal, and acts like a plunger. It has a wiring clip attached to it, and I was thinking maybe I could short the wiring clip or something.
This van doesn't have cruise control, so that's not a problem.
