I just purchased a nice 88 F150 XLT Lariat. No owners manual though. There is a switch beneath the steering wheel that is just a toggle switch labeled "separation min max" with min and max being the two options for the switch. Any idea what this is/does?
I haven't traced the wires, figured that would be a fruitless effort but it's worth a shot. I doubt he had a snow plow since we are in Southeast VA but who knows.
I dunno man, I've never seen a "separation" switch on any vehicle at all, and I can't think of anything that it could relate to. And I don't think it's for a plow, those have momentary switches usually so you can adjust the plow in any position, wheres from the description of the separation switch it's probably something like a tank selector switch...
It turns out, after simply removing the dash cover, it was a stereo wire hooked to the back of the switch. Still don't know what it does, but the stereo works so I will leave well enough alone.
