Not real problems, just gripes
#1 It takes for ever for my 6.7 to warm up, thinking of puting some thing in front of radiator, if their is room. anyone hate this?
#2 Remote start idle time is a max. of 15 min. then you have to start again or walk out in the cold ,wet slush and start manualy, because it will not WARM up in 15 min.
Like i said i don't have a real problem, just a gripe. I didn't realize i was at I was going to get lessons, if ford made it that way i can drive it that way. Don't know what a seic is. most all my experience has been on 855ci diesels or larger, and you just turn em on and let them warm up, worst thing you can do is put a load on one before it is warm.

When you lay out a question or comment in an online forum, you are going to receive all kinds of answers back and not just the ones you think you should get. It's the nature of the beast.
By the very nature of the FTE forums in particular, laying out a problem or complaint (or a gripe!) in a post is an open invitation for others to offer solutions. It's one of the prime reasons why this forum even exists.

The SEIC mod solves both of your gripes.
i looked at the seic, winter front will be less of a problem when i have to go in for waranty or some other problem, to my thinking.
I understand what you say about forums, but did not ask for any lessons on how to opperate a diesel engine been doing it for years. there is new thread that addresses the same problem that makes more sense to me than cutting into my wiring harness.

Guess you didn't see the part about Ford instructions on doing SEIC or the fact that all the wiring is already blunt cut and ready for you. No digging into the harness.
Doesn't affect warranty either.
If you've been operating diesels for years and understand forums like you claim, you'd be more open and accepting to the ideas and suggestions of others. Guess I now know when my help is falling on deaf ears. Lesson learned, and it won't happen again.
I have driven diesel trucks for a lot of years and always warmed them up idling. Worst thing you can do is run a diesel engine cold.
You are correct, but idling is running. You need to start and bump up the idle to around 1200 rpm or drive it gently after 20-30 seconds for everything to get lube.

what if you have a trailer hooked up to her? you should avoid loading the drivetrain when cold.
the point is not to load the drivetrain too much until all mating parts are up to temperature
