I changed the thermostat and it blows hot now. The temp gauge reads in normal but left of center. I also changed the coolant the old stuff looked nasty. Thanks for the help.
My Truck is almost 100 % of the time hauling a Northland 990 Slide in Camper and my Scan Gauge reads on average 164 to 168 in Winter....Cold country travels mostly and in Spring and Fall it averages 168 to 182. Cool running and always has been. Never gets on the road in Summer....To busy for Traveling. Heck it almost never heats up even on the hills. I do like the Scan Guage for keeping up with critical Engine data.
Hello Rob,
The Scan Guage 11 works quite well. I monitor several parameters with it. The temps are the Coolant as I watch it go up from say 30 degrees to about 70 plus quite quickly before I even consider shifting the Manual 5 speed Transmission into gear. My wife likes it when I predict when she will benefit from turning the Heater on.....ha ha....Its always cold here in Stanley Idaho. Where we are known for the Coldest Temps in the Lower 48.

That's "cool running" to you!? I'm worried if I run at 160!
Pinky,
True I don't have on my V-10 the breathing you have with the Banks Headers, Y pipe and Catback Exhaust....Don't quite have that kinda $$$ to spend.....not that I wouldn't do it if I could.....still running original exhaust system, Cool air intake along with K&N FIPK kit, 5 Star Tuning custom tunes, and an extensive list of other minor mods.

Just what does your V-10 run for Coolant temps?

Coolant is running from 0-190. Yesterday, with a little bit of a trip with the plow on, I was seeing almost 200.

Even with the exhaust on mine though, I don't think it would make that much on a difference trans temp wise?
