I have a mysterious drain on my battery that up to this point can not be identified. Charging system checks out ok, so says the three differn't shops I've taken it to. Most recently the accessory control module was replaced, my mechanic was sure that this was where the draw down was coming from... Needless to say it's going back in on Monday! Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
Sounds like you and I could be having the same problem. My battery drains for no reason once in a while too. I've had my mechanic look at it and he can't figure it out either. I thought maybe it was just a bad battery but I'm not sure.
My 08 Escape stalled on me twice this week. I'm guessing it's the battery. But I don't believe my battery is no longer under warranty because I have 58,000 miles on my truck but I've only had the truck 2 years. My question is if my battery failed in 2 years, should I buy the same Motorcraft battery from Ford or will a DieHard be better? The sad thing is that I had my car in for service at Ford in Feb 2009 and the technician marked my battery in a bad state of health. He marked my multi-point inspection report showing that my battery had an actual cold cranking amps of 200 when the factory spec states it should be 390. He even marked bad cell on my paperwork. I don't understand why he didn't change the battery then when I was under the 36,000 miles warranty. He only mentioned that the brakes were bad and I paid for them. Never even mentioned about the battery but I didn't read the entire paperwork (until today) and I did sign it. So I guess I'll have to pay out of pocket.
welcome to the site. I had an issue with my 06 Focus battery when it was 7 months old Ford replaced it as a bad battery. No issues since then just got a bad one.
I wish it was just the battery. I suspected as much last fall and changed out the 5 year old battery for a new one. It didn't fix the problem... I'm loosing my patience with this vehicle, it's been one issue after another.
